Flood Risk Areas and Historical Floods

Data purpose: To show the locations of potential and historical flood areas so that informed decisions can be made with respect to planning and development.

Data description: Flood risk areas showing the extents of known historical flood events as well as areas that have a probability of flooding as determined from historical records. Polygon information includes the description of the flood event, the typical causes of the flood and associated place name keys. The line data indicates the limit of the flood risk mapping information.

Update requirements: On an ad hoc basis as boundaries change

Restriction on use: Unrestricted

License: GeoNB Open Data Licence

Georeferencing: datum - NAD83(CSRS), map projection - NB Stereographic Double, (EPSG 2953)

Data formats: ESRI file geodatabase, ESRI layer package, ESRI shape file

Data coverage and size: Various locations throughout the Province, 12 mb
