  1. What is Interac Online?

  2. The Interac Online service is a new payment option that allows you to make payments on the Internet directly from your bank account. It is secure and easy to use.

  3. How does Interac Online work?
    • Browse for services as you normally would.
    • Select the Interac Online option when you are ready to pay and you will be provided with a list of participating financial institutions (BMO Bank of Montreal, RBC Royal Bank, Scotiabank, and TD Canada Trust).
    • Select the financial institution that you want to pay from. (Note: You will need to be registered for online banking).
    • Log in to online banking with your usual login ID and password.
    • Choose an account to pay from.
    • Confirm the payment – you will automatically be re-directed back to the Service New Brunswick website.
    • Get your confirmation page and you are done.

  4. Is Interac Online secure?

  5. Yes, the Interac Online service is very secure because: You use your existing online banking service with your User ID and password. The payment is completed through your financial institution. No sensitive information is shared between Service New Brunswick and your financial institution.

  7. The service is currently only available to customers of BMO Bank of Montreal, RBC Royal Bank, Scotiabank, and TD Canada Trust.

  9. Contact any participating financial institution or visit their website to inquire about receiving a user ID and password.

  10. Is there a limit to how much I can spend?

  11. Your Interac Online payment is handled by your financial institution so any limits on the amount are controlled by them. Contact your financial institution to inquire about your limits.

  12. How much does it cost to use Interac Online?

  13. Your financial institution processes the payment and may charge a fee for this service. Contact your bank to inquire about any fees applicable.

  14. Can I use Interac Online on any computer?

  15. Yes, you can use the service on any computer where you can access the Internet and your financial institution's online banking service. Always make sure you are careful with your passwords when using a public computer.
