Change to Service New Brunswick credit card policy
Renters

Main - Tenants - Landlords - About/FAQs

The Office of the Rentalsman holds security deposits, in trust, on behalf of tenants and landlords. While accepting credit cards for this type of transaction offers customer convenience, the cost to government of discount fees charged by the major credit card companies continues to grow. This cost has grown to the point where Service New Brunswick must change its credit card policy to balance costs and benefits.

Please note that starting on August 20th, 2012, we will no longer be accepting security deposit payments made via credit card. Service New Brunswick Service Centres will continue to accept cash, money orders, certified cheques and debit cards.

Landlords may wish to register for Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT). This is a safe and practical security deposit remittance method that Service New Brunswick has offered for other services for many years and is now offering for security deposits. Additional information is available at www.snb.ca/irent.
