Civil registration of vital events has been done in New Brunswick since 1888. Vital Statistics will search for birth, marriage or death records as follows:
The name of the party (or parties) concerned and the approximate date and place of event must be provided. In the case of a birth, the names of parents, including maiden name of the mother, must also be provided.
The fees for genealogy searches are $15.00 for the initial period of three years of search and $10.00 for any additional periods of three years. A statement of facts is issued in the event that a record is located.
